LUSITANO BY NATURE

The origin of the Lusitano Royal Stables resulted from the longlasting friendship between Miguel de Bragança and Ricardo Wallenstein, who then partnered with Dr João José Oliveira e Sousa.

The stables are located in the portuguese village of Salvaterra de Magos, in the heart of the ribatejo area.
Surrounded by fertile lands and famously known for its breeding of the Lusitano horse, a place steeped in history.
Situated in a prime location, just 35 minutes away from Lisbon airport and surrounded by a community of popular equestrian events. Reference points include the city of Santarém (gothic capital) only 40km away, the remarkable Golegã village, 60km away, also known as the “Capital of the Horse”, renowned for its annual Lusitano Horse Fair, and, finally 20kms away is the town referred to as the capital of the wild bull, Vila Franca de Xira.

In addition to horse riding, the neighbouring areas offer other activities such as; trips on the Tejo river, water sports, birdwatching, as well as the nearby golf courses in Santo Estêvão village, for the golf lovers.
